Recreational fires are allowed under a general permit. This means that you do not need to obtain a permit for a specific fire as long as you observe and follow all the rules for a recreational fire. Recreational fires are defined as fires for cooking, pleasure, or ceremonies and are allowed in designated areas or on private property.

Firewood, bare untreated wood (ideally with a moisture content less than 20% by weight), and charcoal briquettes are allowed. Any other material is prohibited. Please note that driftwood from the beach does not meet the criteria for firewood. The EPA advises against burning driftwood from saltwater.

We offer blood pressure checks at each station, as long as the firefighters are not out on a call. Feel free to visit the business office located at Station 62 between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm to ensure someone is available to help.
